The very active Pacific North West Region billiard season came to a close with its final event of 2017. Tim Poole reports on the results of the Dick Takano Memorial Tournament where Ertan Tarhan led the B Division and Tim himself was on top in the C Division. Here's the complete report --

"We had a great event with 12 players playing 30 point games (for a change.) The C players added 5 points to the string when playing each other, and had just as much fun with the slightly shorter format.

There were some notables: Al Speidel had a great tournament, going undefeated in the Blue Flight to reach the finals. Ertan Tarhan had high run of the tournament with a 9, followed by Jesus Quinonez with a 7! There were high runs in the C Division, namely Harvey Wixman with a 5 and Al Speidel with a 4!. Ertan had the best overall average of .847 in his preliminary flight, and best game averaging 1.36 against an unsuspecting Harvey Wixman!!!

The $1200 prize fund was split equally between the B & C Divisions. We took 4 players from each Division to the finals competition. With 8 players sharing in the prize fund all of them were very happy indeed!

The next event in the PNW Region will be the Ken Higgins Memorial USBA Qualifier, March 2-4th, 2018 hosted by the Tacoma Elks Club. We will have fresh cloth with new rubber installed on the rails for this event. A flyer will be out soon.

Thanks for a great year and we here wish all of you a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year."
