The USBA has decided to withdraw from its relationship with
the American Cuesports Alliance (ACS). The USBA became an
affiliate of the ACS some time ago in the hopes of advancing
the possiblity of US participation in carom cue sports at the
world level, including the Panamerican Games and the Olympic
Games. This was anticipated to be accomplished through an
affiliation of the ACS in the Panamerican Billiard
Confederation (CPB), which would then represent all cue sports
in the Americas to the organizations running the international
games festivals.
Although the ACS had been recognized by the CPB as the
governing body for pool in the US , that is not currently the
case, due to a decision by the World Pool-Billiard
Association. In light of this, USBA believed that it no
longer made sense for it to continue its affiliation with
ACS. The USBA board is considering other options for United
States participation of carom cue sports at the world level.
