Joe Diaz |
A Sad Greetings indeed: A bright and warm flame of human love and compassion that burned so brilliantly in many of our lives for some 40 years has recently flickered for the last time, and quietly went out as it soared to the heavens in search a better place ... when three-cushion billiard promoter, instructor, feared contender, and man amongst men, Mr. Jose (Joe) Diaz recently passed away.
Chicago Sun Times writer, Maureen O'Donnell kindly wrote Joe's following obituary and as soon a possible I'll follow up with the full story regarding the life and times of "America's Godfather of Three-cushion Billiards" ... Mr. Joe Diaz.

As Bonnie and I hosted the first tournament for Joe over 38 years ago, this June 12, 2010, we and our Illinois Billiard Club shall once again host another national three-cushion billiard tournament in Joe's honor.
Rest in Peace Joe ... you've taught all of us well,
Jim and Bonnie Parker
