The semi-finals (10 players) were divided into 2 groups of 5 players each to 30 points.
The top 2 in each semi-finals group played 2 more matches against the top 2
players in the other group. (6 matches altogether)
The 3rd place finisher in one group played the 3rd place finisher in the other group
(5 matches altogether). The same was true for the 4th & 5th place finishers.

USBA Rankings Bonus:
For "Open" TOUR events, the top 6 nationally-ranked players will each receive $300 expense money when they arrive and play at the event, assuming they are eligible to participate. "B" or "C" players are also permitted to participate in this benefit if they manage to become nationally-ranked into the top six. Jim Shovak has opted himself out of this benefit. This extra bonus money is coming directly from individual sponsors. In order to qualify for the bonus, a player must reside in the United States and must not play in a foreign National Championship. The Rankings Bonus qualifications for each event will be based on the USBA Rankings that is in effect at the time that the tournament is officially announced. Those players' names will be posted in the tournament announcement and will not change regardless of any in-between rankings changes.
The Rankings Bonus for this event is based on the December 31, 2011 USBA Rankings. The players who qualify for this bonus are:

Michael Kang Qualifications Format
35 players divided into 5 Groups of 7 players—playing round robin. Matches will be 25 points. The top 2 finishers from each Group advance to the Semifinals. The top USBA-ranked “A” players (which may include foreign players) will be seeded into the Qualification groups, one per group. The remaining players will be assigned by random draw. 10 players plus 1 Auction & 1 Lottery winner will advance to the Semifinals. 12 players total in the Semifinals.
Semifinals/Finals Format
12 players divided into 2 groups of 6 players—playing round robin. Matches will be 30 points. The top 2 finishers from each Semifinal Group advance to a 4-player Single Elimination Final.
Dress Code : FULL DRESS ATTIRE: dress shirt, black slacks, black shoes, formal-wear tie and vest.
