As expected, Khalil Diab takes the first Chico Qualifier. Originally planned for 5 players, games were reduced to 20 points making it possible to include 6 players.9 rounds the first day, 6 rounds the second. Only one table was available.

Players meeting : 9am Saturday January 7, 2012
Entry fee : is $110 and you must be a USBA member to participate. Please bring cash to the tournament. Since there is a single table only the minimum number of participants (5) will be allowed and only one (1) player will qualify.
$10 from each entry goes to the USBA in the form of Sanction Fees. The remaining $100 per entry goes to the Qualifying Player(s) (actually, to the USBA for safekeeping) as follows: $300 entry into the Nationals and $200 expense money. By rule, if the player who qualifies does not go to the Nationals the USBA will retain this money for use, at its discretion, at the USBA Nationals Tournament.
There is no other prize money in this tournament. Players at the National Championships must be able to represent the United States in the World Championship Tournament. Therefore, players must meet the following requirements in addition to being current members of the USBA. Players must either be a:
• citizen of the United States
or
• legal permanent resident alien of the United States.
