Doug Brink and John Jacobson Qualify for the Nationals

12 players made up the field at Jilly's Qualifier on November 16th-18th, 2007. The tables were newly covered with Simonis and they were playing great.

The Diamonds flight players along with their records: Dale Saunders, 0-5. Steve Gullet, 2-3. Carl Nelson, 2-3. Gary Eake, 3-2. Bob Jacobson, 3-2. John Jacobson, 5-0.

The slightly tougher Clubs flight included Armando Garcia, 0-6. Bob Byrne, 1-4. Rich Kuchma, 2-3. Joe VanVooren, 3-2. Doug Brink, 4-1 and Jose Jimenez, 5-0.

First round of the finals had Jose(25) against Bob(7) and Doug(25) against John(24). Round two of the four man Final had Jose(16) against John(25) and Doug(25) against Bob(11). We could send two to the Nationals, so before the last round was started only Bob was out of contention. This made for a very good last round, but in the end it was Doug(25), Jose(20) and John(25), Bob(20).

High run of the tournament was a seven by John Jacobson in his game against Steve Gullet which he went out in only 14 innings! That's 1.785!!! High run out of the money went to Steve Gullet with a 5.

Congratulations to Doug Brink and John Jacobson who will play in the USBA National Championship in Louisville, KY on January 9-13, 2008.
